NATO Exercise Nordic Pine
– Hybrid Threats to Renewable Energy Systems
The Defence Foundation, SOSCOE and the NATO Science & Technology Organization (STO) exercise ”NORDIC PINE 25” was conducted from September 23 to 26 2025.
The exercise was conducted on three sites; Luleå in Sweden, Espoo in Finland and Munich in Germany.
With more than 130 participants from 23 nations it was one of the largest civilian exercises in NATO.
The exercise addressed the emerging hybrid threats to renewable energy systems, including cyber threats, malign influence, and specifically the weaponization of supply chains.
