The Security of Supply Centre of Excellence (SOSCOE) in Karlskoga has reached Full Operational Capability (FOC) for its establishment organisation, marking an important milestone in the development of the Centre. With this achievement, SOSCOE is now fully operational and able to carry out its mission in full.
Since the establishment phase began, SOSCOE has progressively developed its organisational structures, networks and working methods to meet a growing national and international need for enhanced understanding of robustness and security in supply chains. Through close cooperation between public authorities, industry, academia and international partners, the Centre has created a platform for analysis, collaboration and capability development within the field of Security of Supply.
Reaching FOC means that SOSCOE is now fully able to deliver support in strategic analysis, knowledge development, exercise and training activities, as well as international coordination related to supply preparedness and resilience. The Centre is thereby positioned to contribute to strengthening resilience across complex and interconnected value chains in a security environment characterised by increasing geopolitical tensions.
“Achieving Full Operational Capability is the result of dedicated work, strong partnerships and a shared commitment to strengthening security of supply and resilience. We are now entering the next phase, transitioning from establishment to full delivery through our extensive project portfolio,” says Freddy Jönsson Hanberg, Director of SOSCOE.
“SOSCOE has in a very short time moved from the idea of contributing to NATO’s collective capability to becoming a trusted actor in supporting allied knowledge and capability development,” says Brigadier General (Ret.) Michael Nilsson, Chair of the SOSCOE Steering Committee.
“Karlskoga has once again demonstrated that tangible results and concrete action make a difference. A few years ago, we identified the need for a knowledge centre to support industry in increasing production rates and capacity. Today, we have taken the next step and look forward to future decisions that may enable further development, including NATO accreditation,” says Tony Ring, Chairman of the Municipal Executive Board of Karlskoga.
